CONWAY — The Kennett High ice hockey team is hoping folks are hungry on Monday, Nov. 3 and will come out to a planned fund-raiser at Tuckerman’s Restaurant and Tavern on Route 16A in Intervale for a benefit dinner at 5 p.m.’

“Tuckerman’s has generously agreed to donate a portion of its sales that evening to Kennett Hockey,” Mike Lane, Eagles’ head coach, said. “There will also be a raffle as well as some small auction items.” In addition Pete’s Restaurant Equipment has agreed to match whatever Tuckerman’s donates.

Lane and his coaching staff along with the members of the 2014-15 team will be on hand for the evening.

“We really want to thank Tuckerman’s and Adam Hooper for making this generous donation to us,” Lane said. “Hopefully there will be a huge turnout. It’d be great to have people come out and support the Eagles and Tuckerman’s.”

Kennett starts preseason on Dec. 1 and then five days later heads to Dover for the annual Dover Jamboree with three mini games scheduled beginning at 3 p.m.

With the preseason moved back a week per NHIAA regulations, Coach Lane’s Eagles will not be participating in the annual Kennett Alumni Game. There will still be an alumni game on Nov. 29 (4 p.m.) at Ham Ice Arena, but it will be alumni versus alumni.

“We’ll still be involved in some fashion,” Coach Lane said. “Our players will be there. The Thanksgiving Weekend has always worked out so well in the past because that’s when a lot of alumni are home.”

With the preseason moved back Lane can now play in the game.

“I’m not sure which team I’ll play for,” he said, joking.

The Eagles open their 2014-15 season on the road Dec. 17 at rival Berlin. The Eagles will play their first home game of the season Dec. 20 when they welcome Moultonborough-Inter Lakes to Ham Ice Arena.
