Wednesday night at the Kennett Sports Awards, the Hockey Program dedicated the "Hockey Award" in the name of long time coach, Jim Terry, who retired after the 2005 season.

Tim Fleischer

Tim Fleischer was a foreign exchange student from Germany that attended Kennett High School last year as a junior.  Having never played hockey, Tim tried out for the Eagles Hockey Team and made it, which lead to Tim's participation in last year's Division III Championship game at the Verizon Center in Manchester.  Is that an experience or what!

This year Tim is attending school back in Germany.  Tim is visiting in the Mount Washington Valley during the holidays, visiting friends, and has attended the Eagles' season opener in Laconia against Belmont and the home opener at the Ham against Somersworth.

Tim said that he is following the Eagles by surfing the KennettEaglesHockey.com website on a regular basis.  The World Wide Eagles!

Merry Christmas, Tim!

At the Somersworth home game season opener, the Eagles hosted a can food drive to donate to the local shelter.  Fans  received $1 off there entry fee with a can to donate.  Thanks for your support.

Eagles’ Ice Golf

Challenge

Sponsored By The Valley Originals

Season Ticket Holders will benefit once again from the support of The Valley Originals. This year, at 10 home games, Kennett Eagles Hockey will host The Eagles’ Ice Golf Challenge where one Adult Season Ticket Holder and one Student Season Ticket Holder will be chosen to come out on the ice between the first and second periods. They will shoot a puck from the goal crease to the center ice face off dot. The person to land on the face off dot, in the least amount of shots, will be presented a $25.00 gift certificate to one of the Valley Originals Restaurants. In case of a tie, there will be one play-off hole from center ice, to the left face off circle, on the home end of the rink. This will be one shot; closest to the face-off dot wins.

This challenge is for Season Ticket Holders only. All Season Ticket Holders must register at the Chuck-A-Puck table no later than the 10-minute mark of the first period to be entered for that game’s Golf Challenge. The 2 challengers will be drawn and announced at the first stoppage of play after the 8-minute mark of the first period. The challengers must report to the scorer’s box at the 1-minute mark, and be ready to go on the ice when the players clear the ice at the end of the first period. If one person fails to report, the remaining challenger will be the winner and receive the prize. You must be present to enter.

The Maize at Sherman Farms donated $1 from every paying customer

at the Maize on Sunday September 21^st. to the Kennett Eagles Hockey Team.

We drew our first name for our hockey raffle,

which were tickets donated by

Sherman Farms at the Maize Sunday, Sept 21st.

 The first winner was Ellen Belcastro!

Ellen has won 2 tickets to the UNH versus RPI game

at the Whittemore Center on October 17th.

THIRD ANNUAL    

“TEE TIME FOR ICE TIME”

SHOTGUN TOURNAMENT – WENTWORTH GOLF CLUB

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th.

POST EVENT BUFFET/SILENT AUCTION AT RED FOX RESTAURANT

The MWV Youth Hockey Association, the MWV Skating Club and the Kennett High School Hockey Team collaborated to sponsor the 3rd Annual “Tee Time For Ice Time” Golf Tournament, held at the Wentworth Golf Club in Jackson, NH on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.  The proceeds from the tournament are used to offset the cost of ice time for our local skating programs that count on your financial support.  Both the youth hockey and skating club are non-profit organizations promoting hockey and figure skating locally.    The Kennett High School Hockey Team receives no school funding.  Kennett hockey is a “pay to play” program.

We would like to thank all the sponsors and players that made this event a great success!

Thanks to the Wentworth GC for a course that was in top notch condition!

        Frechette Tire Fund Raiser

On Saturday June 28^th the Kennett Hockey Team joined forces with Frechette Tire to raise money for the high school program. The event was very successful, largely in part to all the patrons and especially Frechette Tire and their staff.  “We cannot thank Justin, Evan, Jobie & George, along with all the staff at Frechette Tire for running this event for us,” said Head Coach Michael Lane.  “Along with all the tire sales, inspections and tire rotations, the Kennett players washed cars by donation.  It was a great event and all of the players and coaching staff of the Eagles are very grateful.  The Eagles will be back fund raising Friday July 4^th when they sell cotton candy and run a dunk tank at the town of Conway’s 4^th of July Celebration at Schouler Park in North Conway.

Town of Conway Independence Day Celebration

 

The Kennett Hockey team worked this 4^th of July,

helping to reduce the cost of ice time for the 2008-2009

season. Players sold Cotton Candy and soda

from noon to 10:00 p.m. at Schouler Park in North

Conway with 100% of the proceeds going to KHS Hockey.

The team also ran a dunk tank with many

celebrity guests, including Bartlett Chief of Police &

Assistant Coach Tim Connifey, Kennett Middle School

Principal Kevin Richard and many more. Your support

the Hockey Team on this great event was truly appreciated!
